Why this training exists

The world has enough instructors who can teach the Hundred.

We built Ore because we were tired of watching the wellness industry sell perfection. Perfect bodies, perfect lighting, perfect $40 classes for perfect people. It's not wellness. It's marketing.

Movement should not be a privilege and teaching it shouldn't be about memorizing choreography and collecting a certificate.

Over four months we'll train you to do the thing most certifications skip: carry a room, to read the bodies in front of you, to cue a nervous first-timer and a ten-year practitioner in the same breath, to build classes people rearrange their week for and a community they don't want to leave.

Is this you?

This training is for you if…

  • ✓ You love mat Pilates and you're ready to go deeper than any class can take you.
  • ✓ You've caught yourself mentally re-cueing your instructor's class (it's okay, we all did it).
  • ✓ You're a fitness pro, yoga teacher or bodyworker looking to add a serious mat credential.
  • ✓ You're changing careers and want work that actually means something.
  • ✓ You have zero teaching experience but real curiosity.

And honestly, it's not for you if…

  • – You want the fastest, cheapest certificate the Internet will sell you.
  • – You can't commit to four full weekends between February and May.
  • – You're looking for a "wellness influencer" launchpad rather than a teaching practice.

Not sure which column you're in? Ask Kasey any clarifying questions you want.

The curriculum

200 hours. Zero filler.

01

The full mat repertoire

All 34 original Pilates mat exercises, plus contemporary variations and sequences.

02

The art of teaching

Class creation, cueing, pacing and presence. How to teach a room of twelve and how to work one-on-one. This is the craft most programs promise and few actually teach.

03

Anatomy that matters

Fundamental understanding of anatomy of how the body moves.

04

Physiology in motion

Find out how the body responds to movement and exercise.

05

Movement as medicine

The whole-person benefits of Pilates and movement, physical, mental and social.

06

The business of teaching

Rates, studios vs. independent, finding your first classes and keeping them. The unglamorous stuff that decides whether your certification becomes a career.

Where your 200 hours go:

72 hrs in-studio with Kasey
45 hrs home study
30 hrs self-practice
30 hrs taking classes (membership covers it)
20 hrs practice teaching
2 exams (fees included)

The schedule

Four weekends. That's the whole ask.

Every session runs Friday to Sunday, 12:30–6:30 PM at the studio, 174 Locke St S. Attendance is required because the cohort learns as a unit and you can't practice-teach an empty room. Between modules your home study and self-practice fit around your life.

Module One
Hold
Feb 5–7
Fri–Sun · 12:30–6:30 PM

The legs and hips: technique, cueing, sequencing and stepping into sensation.
Module Three
Rise
Apr 2–4
Fri–Sun · 12:30–6:30 PM
Shoulders to fingertips, integrated effort, music and the science of injury and pain. Seeing the whole person.
Module Four

Fri–Sun · 12:30–6:30 PM
Synthesis and props, teaching one another and running your own Pilates practice.

Mornings are yours. Weekdays are yours. We take twelve half-days between February and May and turn you into a teacher.

Kasey, lead teacher of the Ore Movement Method

Your lead teacher

Learn from someone who still takes the mat every day.

Kasey leads Ore and will be your teacher for all 72 in-studio hours. Not a rotating cast or a video library. She has taught Pilates since 2012 and carries over 900 hours of movement training behind it; including comprehensive Pilates, CrossFit, barre and yoga. It's a wide base and it's why she can meet a body where it is and teach you to do the same.

I don't need you to be perfect at the Hundred. I need you to care about the person doing it.

The room you'll train in

Trained on Locke Street. Rooted in Hamilton.

Hardwood floors, loads of natural light and a community that shows up in whatever feels good. This is the room you'll learn in, teach in and for four months of unlimited classes, practice in as often as you want.

Good questions

The stuff you're actually wondering.

Do I need teaching experience, or a "Pilates body"?
No, and there's no such thing. You need a genuine mat practice, real curiosity and the willingness to be a beginner at teaching. We were all beginners. Some of us on the same hardwood floor you'll train on.
How much time is this, really?
Four Friday-to-Sunday weekends (12:30–6:30 PM) over four months, plus home study, self-practice and classes between modules. Budget roughly 6 to 8 hours a week between weekends. It's designed for people with jobs, kids and lives. It is not designed to be done half-asleep.
What can I actually do with this certification?
Teach mat Pilates, group classes and one-on-one, at studios, gyms, community centres or independently. You'll graduate with a 200-hour certification, a full teaching repertoire, real practice-teaching hours and the business fundamentals to get paid for it.
Is 200 hours of mat training enough? What about reformer?
Mat is the foundation of the entire method. The 34 originals were mat exercises. A strong mat teacher can teach anywhere there's floor space, with no equipment overhead and mat certification is the standard first credential before apparatus training. Reformer can come later. The mat is where teachers are made.
What if I have to miss a weekend?
Attendance at all four modules is required because the cohort trains as a unit. If life detonates mid-program talk to us early. We're humans and we'll work out what's fair including deferring to a future cohort where possible.
What's the refund policy?
Your deposit reserves your spot and stays refundable until 45 days before the training begins; after that it's non-refundable. The remaining balance is charged automatically 7 days before the first weekend and once it's charged the full fee is non-refundable. After payment your place can be transferred to another participant only with our written approval at our discretion.
Why is enrollment capped at 12?
Because you can't learn to carry a room from the back of a crowd. Twelve means Kasey knows your name, your tight left hip and your cueing habits by module 2.
I'm not ready for Winter 2027. Will there be another cohort?
We expect so. Join the list and you'll hear first.

Four months from now, this room could be yours to lead.
